Artwork
Created 15th January 2019 in St Leonards-on-Sea on the south cost of England.
Citrus fruit are my light in the deepest, darkest winter, when fresh produce and vibrant colour are rare.
Colour scheme: Deep oranges, reds and pinks contrasted with icy blues.
Process
This image was shot with natural light, pouring through the window of my tiny studio by the sea. This was cool winter light, coming from the sun hanging low on the horizon, creating the most gorgeous backlight I have ever seen in my life. The ice lollies are handmade from layers of pink grapefruit juice, orange juice and blood orange juice.
