Artwork
Created 1st August 2021 in the Yorkshire Dales in the north of England.
I am inspired by the craft, beauty and exquisite eye for detail that I see in Japanese art, craft and design. Featuring udon noodles, broth, sugar snap peas, edamame beans, mini pak choy, nasturtium leaves, black sesame seeds and soft-boiled ramen eggs.
Colour scheme: Shades of green with vibrant purple and deep black. Also available in red-orange.
Process
The vibrant Japanese washi paper I used for the background is screen printed with layers of rich colour and a sheen of gold, a true delight to touch and photograph. Mini pak choy and tiny little nasturtium leaves grown in my garden.
